CARES delivered a Technical Seminar: “Confidence in Reinforcement Supply Chain” for The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE)
CARES delivered a Technical Seminar: “Confidence in Reinforcement Supply Chain”. The seminar, held on 30th January 2019 at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was addressed to the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. It was led by CARES Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lee Brankley; General Manager Mr. Ayhan Tugrul and Regional Operation Manager Mr. Chin Seng YAP. The seminar, which included materials which form part of a recognised CPD course for The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) covered the following topics:-
- How reinforcement steel is made
- Constructional steel supply chain
- Product standards for concrete reinforcement
- Risks for engineers
- Types of certificates issued by CARES and understanding their content
- Key features of the CARES Product Conformity Scheme
The seminar was very well attended, with more than 120 delegates taking part, including Hong Kong engineering undergraduates, steel industry executives, engineers and other stakeholders.
