New Chairman announced by CARES
04/07/2019
CARES Chief Executive Officer Lee Brankley today announced that Steven Brunswick has taken over as the new Chairman of CARES, succeeding Les Clark who has now retired.
Mr Brankley said he was “delighted” to welcome Mr Brunswick to his new role – and paid tribute to Mr Clark for his “tireless efforts” on behalf of CARES, and the wider steel and construction industries.
“Today is a very important day for us all here at CARES as we say a fond farewell to Les, who has made such an important contribution, and welcome Steven to his new role as Chairman.
“Steven is already very well known to the team here and our many friends and colleagues across the industry. He has diligently served as a non-Executive Director at CARES for more than 20 years, and for half that time he and I were fortunate to work closely with Les during his tenure as Chairman.”
Mr Brunswick was previously Deputy Chairman of CARES and represented Build UK on the CARES Policy Advisory Committee (PAC).
He has enjoyed a long and successful career in the construction industry including more than 30 years with Mowlem and Carillion, where he specialised in temporary works design and providing building technology advice across the Group's companies.
“Steven has already made an outstanding contribution to CARES and the focus and energy he brings, together with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, will undoubtedly build on the tremendous achievements made under Les’s guidance,” said Mr Brankley.
“I want to pay tribute to Les on behalf of all of us at CARES for the advice and unstinting support he gave me – and the team – during a period of enormous challenge and change,” added Mr Brankley.
